By now, everyone knows that lead man for Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, is dead. Losing his battle with depression, he took his own life. I’m sad that it came to that and I’m sad for his family and band memebers.
I just wanted to thank him for opening my mind to other kinds of music. Their first album changed the way I listened to music forever. I even go so far as to say that without him, that would have never happened. They bridged the gap for me to crossover into rock.
Hearing about his death was truely saddening. Hearing about how he died was worst. No matter how famous and established someone is, they still have demons to fight. I’m here to say don’t let them win. The fight is yours, but you don’t have to do it alone. Reach out for help. No matter if its near you or even here, online.
Never feel alone and never feel like its over.
That’s all I have to say. Thank you Chester for your contribution to the music world and beyond. May you find peace in the afterlife.
I did not know. It is always so sad when people don’t see any light in their life anymore and the only solution they find is in leaving it. We are never alone and there is always this hand but what it needs is wanting to see it. Depression can be such a filter and cuts you off from life.

You’re right, Erika. We just have to remind everyone from time to time that their is still light and that we are here to help one another.

Wow. I didn’t know about this.
I could spend a day and a half trying to wrap my head around why.
Not to sound callous, but at least he got to live doing what he loved. Stars shine brightest.. yada yada… cliches and epitaphs.
I won’t mourn him, for I admire him. His life impacted people and what a legacy he left behind.
