What was your favorite subject in school?
Undoubtedly English. At first, it use to be everything Science due to my fascination with learning about the world. How plants worked and all the phases of the moon. Once Physics came into play and math became a part of it, I lost all my love for it.
Then, I remembered even with my love of science, I still held true to writing with short stories in multiple notebooks and binders. As I advanced to the next grade, so did my story telling capabilities. I remember junior year, the teacher had tasked us to make a fable. I pulled it out of imagination with glee. My tale was about the sun and moon originally being knights. It was fun to write and felt even better to turn in what I knew would be the best story in the class.
Teacher gave me a big fat zero!
She thought I copied and paste something from the internet which was mind boggling for me considering I was A+ student and never have I ever earned a zero. My mom came to school and spoke on my behalf. I had an A after that.
Literature is lit!
That teacher “thought” you had copied the story? As a mother, I would probably have had a little word with her too. How rude to just assume something like that. She must have known you for a while.

Yes! My mom was furious. It was just a way of being told my work was just that good π
