My Angelou

Did she know her poetry would last an eternity? That every poem she wrote would carry timeless certainty. Will any of us be able to step away from the shadow of greatness she casted? Will our works mean anything after we lay in our casket? What happened to the poetry society and those that can recite every line? My questions will be answered in a matter of time.

I’m inspired by her and Edgar Poe. They live forever upon the pages they sew. Now we must make our work do that of the same caliber. No matter the season, our words must live throughout the calendar. I don’t want to cast out such legacy, always on the groove. I’m just saying it’s time for the greats to make room and move.

MOVE OVER FOR US. OUR GENERATION.

  1. Brady and I were speaking of our generation yesterday. So interesting that you spoke of it recently too!

Random fact: did you know, “The Tell-Tale Heart” inspired an episode of the early makings of the cartoon Spongebob Squarepants?
    It’s true…
Did I read that? No. But if you were to see the episode, you would say the same thing!

This is a beautiful post, Trey! Our generation is taking over – absolutely. From our diet, to how our everyday products are made and what they’re made from. From the dye that is used in detergent and clothing, to the fertilizer we put on our lawns. Organic. Healthy. Pure. Found on this earth – unmodified as Each was placed on this earth to be. ❤️☀️🦋

    1. We’re in the age of information now. Back before everything revolved around the internet, the information we had and got hold of was limited to whatever the powers that be wanted it to be. Now they can’t stop flood gates and us knowing the truth about pretty much ANYTHING we seek to find. So we’re learning that the way we were taught to eat isn’t the right way to eat at all.

I didn’t know about that sponge Bob trivia. Something g for me to look into soon. Meanwhile, we have to make our mark on history somehow, Bailey, and I think our wordplay can get us there 😁

  2. Our responsibility to keep the great writers alive. Many love the words of the wonderful Poet. I believe to write with greatness. We must read the words of talented writers. Powerful and good words shared.
